My Tasty Culinary Experience

During my hometown visit with family in Semarang, Central Java Indonesia, my wife want to eat her favorite menu named Rujak Cingur. It makes me little bit confused because this menu is hard to find in this city. After having asked a few friends, finally I found Rujak Cingur stall Bu Sri “Mrs Sri” located at Pekunden Timur Street No. 2, Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia.

Pekunden Timur road is located in a small alley next to the school Ksatrian and across from the Hotel Ibis Semarang when we walked from the Simpang Lima (one of the famous landmarks in Semarang).

The main menu of this restaurant Rujak Cingur, Pecel Madiun, Rujak Surabaya, Pecel kangkung, Mixed ice-Cao. Cingur is a well done boiled slice of lips beef meat. Mixed ice Cao is shaved ice mixed with fruit, young coconut, jelly, pour sweetened liquid milk and red syrup.

Most visitors order a Rujak Cingur dan Rujak Surabaya together with mixed ice cao which is a special menu at this restaurant. Rujak Cingur and Rujak Surabaya is nearly similar menu, just additional Cingur that make them different.

Eating Rujak Cingur not be complete without enjoying a refreshing Mixed ice-cao, to reduce the spicy taste after eating a Rujak, so cool and freshness.

Price per serving of each menu is not more than Rp. 20.000, - (USD 2)

Opening hours of restaurants : daily 10.00 AM – 17.00 PM
