Ragusa name is certainly familiar to fans of ice cream in Jakarta. Who would have thought, ice cream parlor that was pioneered by the family of Italian Ragusa was originally a tailor business (sewing).

When Vincent Ragusa is visiting dairy farms in Bandung, he was sorry to see the amount of milk that is not processed and disposed.
He has an idea to use that milk to make ice cream. Then, in 1932, every time Gambir Night Market that was held for one month in a year, Ragusa has started serving ice cream.

Due to the growing number of enthusiasts, Ragusa was still opening stores in Jalan (means street) Segara I or now better known by the name of Jalan Veteran I number 10 until now. Ice Cream Ragusa Café is located on Jalan Veteran I No.10 Jakarta Pusat, Jakarta, Indonesia opposite the Istiqlal mosque in Jakarta.
